As an accountant in this role, you will be responsible for various routine accounting tasks, as well as managing the GST (Goods and Services Tax) and TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) compliance for the organization. Your duties will include:
• Routine Accounting: Managing day-to-day accounting tasks, such as recording financial transactions, preparing vouchers, and maintaining financial records.
• Monthly GST Filing Return: Preparing and filing monthly GST returns in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Quarterly TDS Return: Preparing and filing quarterly TDS returns, ensuring timely and accurate compliance with TDS provisions.
• Weekly Payment: Processing and making weekly payments to vendors and other stakeholders as per established processes and guidelines.
• Monthly P&L and Balance Sheet: Preparing monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements and balance sheets, analyzing financial data, and providing financial reports to management.
• Monthly T&S Store P&L: Preparing monthly profit and loss statements specifically for the T&S (Store) business segment, analyzing financial data, and providing relevant reports.
• Monthly T&S Online P&L: Preparing monthly profit and loss statements specifically for the T&S (Online) business segment, analyzing financial data, and providing relevant reports.
• Store Reconciliation: Reconciling physical store inventory with the financial records, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Online Reconciliation: Reconciling online sales and payments with the financial records, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
• Filing Annual GST Return (GST+): Preparing and filing the annual GST return (GST+) in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• GST Entry as per 2B (GST Portal): Recording and reconciling input tax credit (ITC) entries in the accounting system as per the data available in the GST portal, ensuring accurate and timely compliance with GST regulations.
• Administration Work for GST/Agreement: Managing administrative tasks related to GST compliance and agreements, such as maintaining records, preparing documentation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Handling Franchise Commission: Managing the commission payments to franchisees, ensuring accurate calculations, timely payments, and proper documentation.
Overall, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with GST and TDS regulations, and efficient handling of routine accounting tasks for the organization.
To be successful in the role of an accountant with the responsibilities listed in the job description, the following skills and experience are typically required:
• Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards, including proficiency in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
• Taxation Expertise: Thorough knowledge of GST and TDS regulations, including experience in preparing and filing GST returns, TDS returns, and annual GST returns (GST+). Familiarity with the GST portal and 2B reconciliation is highly desirable.
• Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing monthly profit and loss (P&L) statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports, and ability to analyze financial data to provide meaningful insights to management.
• Reconciliation Skills: Ability to reconcile physical inventory, online sales, and payments with financial records, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Payment Processing: Experience in processing and making payments to vendors and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established processes and guidelines.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in using accounting software and tools, such as Tally, and Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, reporting, and compliance to ensure error-free and compliant financial operations.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including management, vendors, and franchisees.
• Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and provide insights for decision-making.
• Compliance Orientation: Thorough understanding of compliance requirements related to GST, TDS, and other relevant regulations, and ability to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
• Experience: Typically, a minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or related field is required, CA Intern.
