Rutherford Wine Company is seeking a Sr Accountant to join our Accounting Team! As our primary Accountant, you will be responsible for performing various accounting functions including preparing month end close, fixed assets schedules, inventory costing, valuation, and compliance. Duties may include specialized recordkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliations and compliance activities, relating to the General Accounting functions. You will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, including wine/alcohol compliance and tax filings. The right candidate for this role will be able to work within deadlines and drive continuous improvement to deliverables and processes. This position provides an opportunity for an Accountant to join a company where the Accounting and Finance team acts as a critical partner in support of a growing organization. This position will be based in Lodi, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Active role in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing procedures, communicate monthly closing status to relevant parties, preparing journal entries, general ledger analysis, variance explanations, and other accounting related processe

• Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger mainten
ane
• Analyze cost center reports for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Controllers’ att
enton
• Prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis to assist the Controller, Executive team, and the Winemaker with de
cisins.
• Own and understand the fixed asset process, including creating asset numbers, capitalizing, disposing, tracking CIP and various recon
ciliaions
• Prepare various federal, state, and local tax reports including 702 reports, Federal Excise tax payment, monthly and annual CA
excis tax.
• Calculate and record monthly inventory costing for Material, Bulk
and Cae wine
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audit and tax
return upport.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement best-p
racticepolicies
Job Reqirements:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Acc
ounting, CP preferred
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in wine industry accounting, including c
ost experiene is a plus
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detai
l and knowlede of US GAAP
• Effective communication, presentati
on and inter-prsonal skills
• Organization and a goal-oriented mindset are criti
cal requirement for this role
• Specific Skills required: Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Micr
osoft NAV expeience desirable
