Job Description
• Only qualified Accountant candidates located near the Denver, CO area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of experience with/in accounting background (base foundation), knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system

• Cross functional team experience. Not looking for bookkeeping/clerical AP processing.

• Bachelor of Accounting/finance degree or business administration is preferred

• Must have experience in a fast-paced environment and must possess strong problem-solving abilities

• Able to interact effectively with internal and external clients

• Strong analytical abilities with advanced MS Excel skills

This Accountant will be working within the Business area accounting team and will be responsible for booking journal entries in support of some of the business operations business areas. Heavy in month end close activities as there is a high volume of journal entries that this team books. This role is supporting the business areas in booking accrual, reclass type journal entries during the close process, doing some research with our AP system and doing some other work throughout the month that include standard accounting functions such as preparing account reconciliations and doing some of our look back testing from a SOX perspective from one of our controls. This role is cyclical; each month doing the same type of work.

Accountant Responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly journals for billing, general ledger oversight and audit responses

• Reconciles accounts

• Prepares financial statements including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows

• Provides guidance on cost accounting issues

• Analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses

• May include tax and cost accounting
