POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general direction, you will be responsible for moderately complex accounting activities, including but not limited to the maintenance of a complete accurate general ledger, account reconciliation, expenditure review, inventory audit, month-end closing, the resultant managerial reports, and financial statements.
• This position can be located in Huntsville, Alabama or Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
• Huntsville is the preferred location with relocation assistance.
• Englewood Cliffs, NJ is for local candidates only (NO relocation assistance)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reconcile AR accounts to manage AR aging incl. invoices, chargebacks, advance receipts etc.
• Create journal entries for misc. deposits.
• Perform month-end closing.
• Analyze monthly fluctuations of expenses by examining general ledgers.
• Enter closing adjustment vouchers such as Accrual expenses, revenues etc.
• Review expense vouchers and backups to check compliance with company policies and US GAAP
• Provide guidelines and support to each department to ensure all accounting transactions are properly booked and reported in a timely manner.
• Planning and coordinating bi-annual and quarterly audit of physical inventory and report findings to management and company headquarters.
• Participate in monthly inventory management by completing parts inventory aging reports, confirmation of write-off requests, and financial statement reconciliation of inventory assets in order to reduce company risk.
• Prepare, review, or analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to access accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Prepare material for outside audit to include accounting reports, system change and/or update information, and accounting policy update information as well responding to issues and requests during the course of the audit.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred).
• AICPA preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in accounting practices preferred.
• Bilingual in Korean and English (preferred).
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
• Experience with Oracle based accounting system preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and work in a deadline driven environment.
