Job Title: Accountant II
Location: Chicago IL, onsite/hybrid
Duration: March 2026 to June 2026 (possible extension)
Pay rate: $43.64/hr on W2
Description:
Must have Oracle General Ledger accounting system a must along with advance excel skills
This position is responsible for performing month end close procedures, preparing moderate to complex journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate financial records of various general ledger transactions; performing system balancing and collaborating with divisional team in resolving variances and/or reconciling items; analyzing and accounting for changes in financial data reported; performing system balancing for source to subledger; preparing and distributing financial reports to various financial teams; along with serving as subject matter expert to quarterly and annual audit
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for preparing and recording journal entries for one or more highly complex and visible subsidiaries; serves as a control point for journal entry inclusion and quality.
Reviews and/or performs analysis and creation of financial statements and reports for one or more highly complex, risky, and visible subsidiaries.
Performs challenging or especially complex account reconciliations, which may require sophisticated process, contractual, and/or accounting understanding or that impact multi-million-dollar accounts.
Evaluates and analyzes the impact of changes in accounts, reporting requirements, or business processes, and proposes and documents changes needed in accounting, reporting, or procedures, for management review, keeping all work papers aligned.
Prepares reports and responses that require sophisticated process, contractual,
and/or accounting understanding or with high visibility and/or impact.
Identifies and implements process improvements, including documenting processes and procedures.
Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance.
3 years experience financial and accounting experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point and Word.
Experience in public speaking and presenting.
Required Qualification(s)
