We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled individual to make a meaningful contribution to our accounting department. This position is responsible for maintaining the financial books and records of several related companies within a larger corporation. The ideal candidate will seek to adapt and grow within our company through improving existing processes and creating and implementing new ones. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Human Resources.

Accountant
Responsibilities
• Perform day-to-day accounting functions
• Review and approve accounts payable
• Manage fixed assets, keeping timely records of additions and disposals
• Confirm accuracy of book and tax depreciation
• File business sales, use, and property taxes and renditions
• Identify transactions with potential accounting implications and handle them appropriately
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Reconcile accounts and resolve issues
• Utilize sound judgment while conforming to GAAP
• Perform analyses
• Complete monthly and yearly closing process
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements
• Communicate findings and issues to management
• Assist outside auditors as requested
• Support accounting department with ad hoc activities and projects as needed Accountant Required Skills/
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited university
• Two plus years of progressive work experience in public accounting or a related field
• Knowledge of ERP systems. SAP experience is a plus.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Word.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Highly motivated with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Capable of working alone or in a team environment
• Ability to accept challenges and meet deadlines under pressure
