What you will be doing:
• Reconciliation preparation
• Ensure reconciliations for VAT accounts for assigned ledgers are completed and submitted for review by assigned deadlines
• Submit reconciliations to GL Team by assigned deadlines.
• VAT returns preparation
• Ensure VAT returns are prepared and submitted for internal review by assigned deadlines
• Analysis transactions to determine correct VAT-treatment
• Identify incorrect use of tax codes and follow-up to ensure users are educated on the use of these
• Submit VAT returns and all the supplement reports (EC Sales List, Intrastat, Supplier Listing, Client Listing, Annual vat returns, Turnover reconciliations, etc.) by the statutory deadlines
• Ensure VAT returns are remitted to tax authorities by statutory deadlines to avoid penalties/interest
• Ensure VAT preparation checklist is completed.
• Support the migration of FIS's companies' VAT functions in EMEA from Business Units into the Corporate Tax Function.
• VAT returns review
• Provide necessary information to external accountants for preparation of VAT returns by require deadlines
• VAT returns finalization
What you will bring :
• Strong VAT technical skills, with focus on EMEA and LATAM knowledge and experience
• Strong VAT reconciliation skills
• Project/process improvement
• Technical Accounting ability
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Oracle and SAP experience preferred, but not essential
