We are looking for an Accountant. This role is part of our Controllership Team and supports Arrival’s operational and global close processes. If you are looking to grow your career in a dynamic, global and fast-paced environment, this opportunity is for you!
Responsibilities:
• Perform essential accounting transactions and key account reconciliations.
• Month end close, including closing the books in local accounting IT system (Odoo) and submission in consolidation software (Sigma).
• Responsible for timely and accurate monthly accounting closes for Arrival Elements BV (60%), Arrival Auto UK (20%), and Arrival U.S.A. entities (20%).
• Assist with audit requirements.
• Monthly payroll and related compliances reviewing.
• Preparation of monthly analysis and ad hoc reports.
• Continual improvement and streamlining of processes.
• Key cross functional business partner to operations, Tax, Human Resources and Consolidation Team
Expertise:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• 3-5 years of basic accounting experience, including financial close process and financial statement preparation experience.
• Certified Chartered Accountant highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Payroll experience preferred.
• Experience preparing account reconciliations (Accounts payable, accruals, bank and cash, prepayment and inventory) Basic experience of inventory accounting (e.g. inventory counts, inventory reserves etc).
• Working knowledge of basic IFRS and / or US GAAP.
• ERP systems experience - Odoo, SAP, Oracle or other cloud based ERP system- preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong business partnership and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and strict deadlines.
• Sense of urgency and ability to work with colleagues in other time zones is required (e.g. Europe, UK, US).
• Attention to detail and ability to organise.
• A proven track record of process improvement and a continual improvement mindset.
• Prior experience working with Big 4 auditors is a huge plus.
• Prior experience with internal control over financial report (SOX) is strongly preferred or ability to learn.
