Job Description
Job Summary: The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reporting, and reconciliation processes to ensure transparency and efficiency in financial operations. This role involves daily postings, beneficiary management, reporting, and ensuring efficient financial workflows within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
Perform daily postings and reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
Prepare and present financial reports, including GPS and donor reports, ensuring compliance.
Verify and allocate receipts to appropriate accounts.
Provide timely reporting on non-payments and pending financial issues.
Manage cash flow effectively to ensure adequate funds for operational needs.
Beneficiary & Supplier Management
Determine the next beneficiaries based on defined eligibility criteria and ensure financial support is allocated accordingly.
Maintain proper records of beneficiary payments and manage financial interactions related to beneficiaries.
Process efficient payments to suppliers and ensure timely reconciliations.
Purchases & Procurement
Raise purchase orders based on approvals and ensure proper documentation.
Oversee purchasing transactions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
Insurance & Compliance
Handle insurance payments and postings, ensuring timely processing.
Ensure adherence to financial regulations, donor requirements, and internal controls.
Collaboration & Analysis
Analyze financial data submitted by the operations team to support decision-making.
Work closely with the finance and operations teams to ensure smooth financial workflows.
Other Responsibilities
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager or Director to support the organization's operations.
Skills Required:
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in ZOHO and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in an NGO setting.
