LOCATED IN PERRY, IOWA Please note - this is not a remote position Accountant The McKay Group of Companies is one of North America's largest tillage tool manufacturers.
We currently have an opening for an Accounting Technician for our Wiese Industries, Inc.
operation located in Perry, Iowa.
Position Overview Our company is looking for an experienced Accountant with primary responsibilities including cost accounting, recording, maintaining, and reconciling accounting transactions in a timely, precise manner and inventory control.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Please note - This is not a remote position Completes general ledger balancing and financial statement preparation.
Completes monthly accounting close, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
Process annual year-end close.
Provides cost accounting on finished and in process product.
Analyze inventory, identifying solutions to deviations.
Financial analysis as requested.
Process monthly Sales Use Tax.
Makes recommendations to improve accounting and control procedures.
Inventory management with standard costing knowledge with automated barcoding system.
Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Worker Characteristics:
Must possess strong organizational skills.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals across all levels and departments within the organization.
Ability to identify problems, develop and execute solutions.
Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
Possess strong competency with Excel.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting or related field.

years (required) Manufacturing accounting preferred Cost accounting 3
years (required) Inventory experience Sage 100 experience preferred Scanforce barcoding knowledge is a bonus Job Type:
