JOB SUMMARY
This position’s basic function is to support the Company and the Accounting Department by performing accounting duties with emphasis on general ledger, prepaids, reconciliations, month end close, etc. Closing activities will include journal entry postings, data analysis, reporting, as well as special projects.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
The functions listed describe main responsibilities of this job. Specific duties or tasks may vary, according to business necessity.
• Preparing monthly journal entries with associated support.
• Helping the operating team understand their numbers and being an integral part of finding value added solutions that remove costs and complexity.
• Heavy preparation of account reconciliations for general ledger accounts.
• Responsible for full-cycle accounting including reviewing entries for revenue, accounts payable, escrow transactions, etc.
• Monitoring and management of certain general ledger accounts, including understanding of business transactions that impact the account.
• Supporting special projects
• Performing detailed data analysis of certain data/information.
• Preparing, enhancing and creating reports for management on a weekly or monthly basis.
• Providing back up for other Staff Accountants.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• BS Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred and 3-5 year of accounting experience in a corporate environment
• Motivated self-starter with a sense of urgency and pride in his/her work.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across various business functions and departments.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills required including ability to extract data from various systems for efficient analysis.
