This role supports the technical and operational lease accounting function to ensure complete and accurate financial close, internal, and external reporting.
This position is highly collaborative and visible given the lease accounting risk to the financial statements and important stakeholders.
• Shared service / centralized lease accounting close and reporting process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls and company policy and procedures for the accurate and timely payment / billing of leases.
• Support end-to-end lease accounting process by maintaining proper accounting and documentation of all activity in accordance with U.S. GAAP and in compliance with internal and external audits.
• Perform analysis of legal documents and determine lease classification in accordance with U.S. GAAP ASC 842.
This role partners with other functional teams, creating efficiency, automation, and standardization over the end-to-end process.
Responsibilities include:
• Completing month-end close processes including subledger work in CoStar, general ledger entries, and internal and external financial reporting deliverables.
• Collaborating with cross-functional departments to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of lease transactions.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in accounting required.
• Chartered Accountant preferred.
• Minimum 3-4 years of public accounting or large multinational company accounting experience (property accounting preferred).
