Job Description
We are seeking an accomplished Accounting and Analysis Professional to support our financial operations. As an Accounting and Analysis Professional, you will play a critical role in preparing financial reports, conducting variance analyses, and supporting budget and forecasting activities within the Office of Financial and Administrative Services (OFAS).
Main Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager to prepare the annual budget.
• Prepare and consolidate monthly temporary operating budget, consolidated operating budget, and supplemental budgets for management, including comparisons of budget to actual revenues and expenses.
• Monitor and prepare variance and trend analysis for offices, projects, and private grants, providing explanations for variances.
• Update and maintain forecasts and budgets for all offices in the accounting system and monitor actual program expenses on a monthly basis for trend and variance analysis.
• Meet with office directors to prepare budgets for review and approval and review forecasts, walking through financial results with office directors.
• Create forecast and budget schedules to assist in analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and projections, performing analysis for review by Office Directors. Assist with the preparation of month-end reporting packages and financial materials for quarterly board meetings.
• Respond to questions and requests for information and research.
• Prepare financial grant reports for donors of privately raised funds.
• Monitor the purchasing and contract approval process to ensure compliance with purchasing and financial policies and procedures, including matching of invoices and purchase orders.
• Assist employees with obtaining initial purchasing approvals in the accounting system, including authority to purchase, needs assessment, and budgetary approval.
Requirements:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Initiative and accountability for results with the ability to collaborate on teams: high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Unimpeachable integrity and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience in financial planning and analysis or accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced skills in Excel, including but not limited to VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting,
• Familiarity with financial reporting tools and data visualization tools.
• NetSuite experience.
• Workday Adaptive Planning experience.
• ADP reporting experience.
