Accounting Clerk
Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (hours may vary)
$17.00 - $1+.00 per hour with paid vacation and sick time
Modern Maturity Center, Dover, DE, 1++04
The Accounting Clerk will be responsible to compile, classify, record, verify and maintain data and payments to accounts payable and receivable and cash receipt records.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepares and processes daily cash and credit card deposits and fills out each control sheet daily
• Reviews and posts receipts and payments to appropriate ledgers, spreadsheets, records, and databases.
• Prepares, sorts, copies, files, and mails invoices, receipts, checks, correspondence, and other requested items.
• Audits invoices against purchase orders, research discrepancies, and approves for payment.
• Prepares accounts payable checks.
• Prepare and processes some account receivable billings.
• Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills.
• Research and processes charge backs, returns, refunds, freight charges, cost of lost or damaged goods, bad checks, and similar items.
• Answers accounts payable and receivable inquiries and follows up.
• Assists with related special projects, as required.
• Prepares analysis and summaries of accounts.
• Monitors accounts payable and receivable to ensure payments are accurate and timely.
• Tracks Banquet invoices and payments
• Makes bank deposits
• Assist in monthly and annual closings and annual agency audit

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
• Associate's degree in accounting; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
