Fishers Event Center has an excellent and immediate opening for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk will perform entry-level accounting work assisting in general accounting and bookkeeping functions. This position also includes responsibilities of processing purchase orders, processing accounts payable, recording settlements and cash receipts, preparing bank deposits as needed, and assisting with payroll processing
Qualifications
• Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in accounting or finance role.
• Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrate knowledge of accepted financial and auditing procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and organizational ability
• Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information is required.
• Detail oriented
• Extensive knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities
• Reviews and enter accounts receivable and accounts payable invoices.
• Completes various monthly reconciliations and assists in the preparation of financial statements.
• Audits receipts and disbursements to ensure accuracy for events and resolves credit card charge backs.
• Completes assigned sections of the monthly close by the specified deadline.
• Assists in the preparation of event activity statements and sales tax returns.
• Communicates with Accounting Manager regarding status of projects, workload and concerns in the department on a daily basis.
• Assists in the preparation of audit schedules.
• Prepares daily cash reports on a timely basis.
• Inputs journal entries to the accounting system.
• Performs all other job duties as assigned.
