We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Permanent Manufacturing Accounting Manager in our fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a critical role that will oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing accounting, with a deep understanding of cost of goods sold (COGS), general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end processes, and bill of materials (BOM).
Responsibilities
As a Manufacturing Accounting Manager, you will
• Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
• Manage and oversee all facets of our manufacturing accounting functions, including COGS, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly and annual reports, in a timely manner.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Work closely with manufacturing personnel to understand and ensure accurate and timely recording of all costs.
• Analyze manufacturing operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Manufacturing Accounting Manager position, you must possess the following
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven working experience as a Manufacturing Accounting Manager, or a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including COGS, general ledger functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close processes.
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with various departments.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, on multiple projects.
