Summary
Opening in late 2026, the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is in the famed Deer Valley ski resort and approximately 40 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport. The Grand Hyatt Deer Valley Hotel is part of a new development, planned to incorporate 17 ski lifts, ±1,600 residential units, 8 hotels with a total of ±1,350 rooms, ±250,000 square feet of conference and retail space, and one of the largest “ski beaches” in the world.
The Grand Hyatt is comprised of 381 rooms, including 22 suites with approximately 25,+00 square feet of net indoor meeting space, lobby level 3-meal restaurant and bar, signature bar, pool/après ski bar and grill, coffee bistro, large outdoor event terrace, pool and 3 whirlpools, kids club, and fitness area. In addition to the Hotel, there will be 55 condominium residences.

We are looking for an Experience Accounting Manager - This position is responsible for the oversight of the hotel's general ledger operations and supports the hotel Director of Finance; additionally, this person will be responsible for efficiently running the accounting department in line with Hyatt Corporate standards while meeting guest and owner expectations. Other responsibilities will include the following:
• Lead Month End Close
• Prepare variance explanations, prepare Management Fee Calculations, prepare and distribute ownership reports.
• Prepare and submit monthly Forecast, Prepare Cash Flow Statements and Monthly Review all Low and Medium reconciliations
• Complete MFR in concert with departments
• Complete performance test
• Prepare and review all journal vouchers, month-end reports and reconciliations
• Review preliminary financial statements with Controller
• Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist Controller with the presentation of these reports
• Assist Controller with supervising accounting staff and the Information Technology functions of the hotel including coaching and counseling associates to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures, interviewing, training and evaluating performance of staff.
• Manage and help oversee hotel on-site accounting functions to ensure proper fiscal management, timely and accurate reporting and analysis for the hotel. This responsibility also includes hotel financial planning, budgeting, accounting and cash management
• Systems administration, G/L account reconciliations, budget preparations, inventories, monthly closings and full P&L responsibility.
• Assist with managing and ensuring SOX compliance
• Assist Controller with completing the year-end audit process. Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers. Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance.
• Help prepare all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department staff in this process. Take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement
• Assist Controller with special reporting and analysis projects
Preferred:
• Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred
• 3-5 years or more of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel
• Experience supervising accounting staff members
• Prior MICROS, ADP/Enterprise, Time Clock Systems, and Hyatt systems (Opera and PMS) expertise desired
• Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

Qualifications
• Hospitality or Accounting degree preferred
• 3-5 years or more of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a hotel
• Experience supervising accounting staff members
