KAW Roofing is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented, accounting professional to join our team. This position will be an integral part of ensuring the day-to-day accounting runs smoothly, remains accurate, and is up to date to allow for tracking of the organization’s success.
What you’ll be doing:
Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data and preparing reports.
• Receive, code, and enter invoices into the bill pay system.
• File Quarterly Sales and Use Tax Returns.
• Manage billing software.
• Reconcile monthly sales ledgers between systems.
• Maintain Fixed Asset schedules.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Make journal entries and review general ledger detail.
• Ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts between GL system and other systems used by the Firm.
• Substantiate financial transactions.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information; recommend action to resolve.
• Assist with annual budget process.
• Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
• Assist with credit card payments and reconciliations.
• Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensure compliance with Firm policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Prepare WIP reconciliation monthly.
• Prepare union, certified payroll and fringe reporting monthly.
• Prepare weekly payroll for salaried and union employees.
What you’ll bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required.
• A Licensed CPA is a plus.
• At least 4 years of job-related experience is preferred.
• Preference will be given to those with knowledge of Foundation Software and processing union payroll.
• Accounting, reporting skills, deadline-oriented, reporting research results, time management, data entry management.
• Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include preparing and maintaining accurate records, using pertinent software applications.
• Excellent Excel skills for data calculations; general math skills.
