We are a leading consumer services comapny in Kansas City, MO seeking a strong Accounting Manager to join our team. (Role is onsite in Kansas City with a salary range of $+0k - $120k).
Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial activities of the company. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, and financial planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, internal controls, and financial reporting. This is a key leadership role and will work closely with the executive team to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP
• Prepare and manage the annual budget, including revenue and expense forecasting
• Conduct regular financial analysis and provide recommendations to improve financial performance
• Oversee procurement processes and ensure compliance with company policies
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Review and analyze financial statements, including the balance sheet and income statement
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
• Prepare and file required financial reports with regulatory agencies
• Develop and maintain relationships with external auditors and tax advisors
• Provide leadership and support to accounting team members, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work
• Continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a management role
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience in budgeting, financial planning, and procurement
• Knowledge of internal controls and month-end/year-end close processes
• Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
