Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Assist Controller with supervising all accounting (AR, AP, Payroll) departments.
Annually balance all accounting general ledger accounts with subledgers.
Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and reports.
Record financial information and provide summaries when necessary.
Complete monthly bank reconciliations.
Build and maintain files and reports on liability and assets account balances.
Perform general ledger account (accounting) reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Review ledgers, statements and balance sheets for accuracy.
Prepare journal entries (all accounts).
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Responsible for maintaining company expense accounts, monthly and annually.
Process and organize expense invoices to ensure bills are paid and received in a timely manner.
Responsible for banking procedures such as deposits, ck verifications, etc.
Role will eventually progress into a full Accounting Manager position.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, CPA designation or working towards completion is a benefit.
A minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a fast-paced computerized environment. (Must have previous accounting experience)
Proficient knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information, and preparing financial summaries.
Able to perform account reconciliations.
Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
Effective mindfulness and a high degree of accuracy.
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and government agencies.
Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Elevated level of proficiency with Microsoft Office – Must be at intermediate level in Excel (i.e., creating and using pivot tables, v-lookup, advanced data manipulation).
Experience with Gary Jonas Computing Software.
