Overview:
We are looking for an analytical, meticulous, sharp, and solution-oriented accountant to join our rapidly growing team. We need a self-starter who possesses the highest degrees of integrity and accountability to optimize our financial performance, processes and position. Expert in accounting, tax, financial planning and management, as well as profitability and cost analysis. Effectively manage various accounting processes, payroll practices reporting etc. Our ideal candidate would work collaboratively with other departments, championing an efficient, error-free AP process and practices. Location: Bangalore/Bengaluru
Experience: 2-5 years
Responsibilities:
• Own and process the monthly payroll for employees
• Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
• Prepare and manage monthly accounts receivable invoicing
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end closes, including month end journal entries and account reconciliations, completed accurately and timely in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information
• Perform General ledger review
• Validate the vendor invoices and process vendor payment Prepare bills and Invoices
• Support the Account Receivable process by reconciling the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted
• Ensure that all financial reporting, auditing requirements, and compliance requirements are fulfilled
• Conduct mid-level general-ledger account reconciliations, verify data accuracy etc
• Support monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial closes, including journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accruals. Manage overall maintenance of operational management accounts
• Assist in providing schedules (Prepaid/Accrued/Payroll) and commentary for operational management account results and variances
• Maintain, and update records and reports for profit & loss, taxes, liabilities, and assets
• Generate various financial reports and support internal and external audits
What We Are Looking For:
• Previous accounting experience ideally in fast-paced “start-up" environments or small companies, typically obtained in 3+ years
• Previous experience of handling end-to-end payroll process independently
• Good understanding of current labor laws and compliance requirements
• Previous experience of liaising with labor department officials will be an added advantage
• Working knowledge on PF, Income tax, PT and other payroll related statutory compliances and Gratuity
• Must be proactive, results-oriented and innovative
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and resources at various stages concurrently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Extreme detail-orientation and thoroughness
• Ability to adapt quickly and resourcefully to shifting priorities
• Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance and Commerce highly preferred
• Integration experience to the new accounting system and / or time and billing software

About Us:
Next Big Innovation Labs® (NBIL) has been operating in the domain of bioprinting for 7 years now. Since our inception in May 2016, we have been working with pioneers in the domain of bioprinting to push the envelope of what is possible within the domain. The support from the government via state and central government grants (Idea2POC, IIGP 2.0 and BIG) was the impetus that allowed us to explore customised bioprinting and its requirement across the wide array of applications. The vision of the company is to build robust bio-fabrication tools and bio-fabricated products for applications in clinical, academic, and industrial pursuits.
During our journey in the domain of bio-fabrication, we have worked with thought leaders in the field. Some of our key collaborators are Dr. Falguni Pati (IIT-Hyderabad), Dr. Sujata Mohanty (AIIMS, Delhi), Dr. Sudha Warrier (Manipal) and Dr. Niraikulam Ayyaduri (CLRI). We understand the importance of working across sections of research and hence, since our inception, have fostered strong industrial collaborations as well. A few of our keystone industrial collaborators are Merck KgaA (Germany), Autodesk India, HiMedia® Laboratories and Microsoft.
With a spirited approach to build strong inter-disciplinary bio-fabrication oriented projects, we launched Trivima Bioprinters (our Made in India customised bioprinters) that can cater to a wide array of bioprinting projects and protocols – ranging from bone based bioprinting to core biomaterial research to clinical research. Our Trivima Bioprinters are proudly installed at some of the foremost research institutes in the country – Central Leather Research Institute (Chennai), AIIMS (New Delhi), IIT (Hyderabad), King George Medical University (Lucknow), Manipal University (Manipal), JIS Istitute for Advanced Scientific Research (Kolkata), Somaiya Vidyavihar (Mumbai) and Sastra Deemed University (Thanjavur). Trivima serves as a tool for us to explore stronger collaborations with each one of these institutes.
To build the inter-disciplinary mindset required for bioprinting, we created Next Big Learning, a foundation online course on bioprinting which is curated by Dr. Jayesh Bellare (IIT- Bombay) and delivered by us and an array of experts namely Dr. Geetha Manivasagam (VIT, Vellore), Dr. Amit Jaiswal (VIT, Vellore) and Dr. Deepak Kalaskar (UCL, London). The course now caters to more than 400 students in India and abroad and has allowed students, researchers and clinicians to explore new applications in bio-fabrication.
We believe this is just the start and there is a lot more that we can do to serve the society better and, through collaborative projects, will build a community that will, one day, bridge the organ transplantation demand via bio-fabrication.
