Job Description
We are seeking a skilled accounting assistant for our busy construction company. They will help us communicate with vendors and clients, work with subcontractors, help manage construction budgets and purchase orders, and help us with special projects. Previous experience in the industry is helpful, but not required. The successful applicant will have a few years of accounting experience, excellent computer and time management skills, and be extremely organized. Compensation:
$18 - $20 Hourly
Responsibilities:
• Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner
• Greet and assist visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner
• Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
• Assist with collecting payments, and writing receipts
• Perform data entry and maintain electronic and paper records
• Assist Project Manager in creating construction draws
• Assist Project Manager in creation and maintenance of project budgets and purchase orders
• Ensure all necessary lien waivers are received and processed with each draw
• File notices on the State Construction Registry
• Ensure all trade insurance certificates and licenses are current
• Coordinate with Company President on annual insurance renewals
• Ensure all paperwork with title company and lender is filled out and submitted for closing
Qualifications:
• Familiar with accounting principles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office software
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Ability to learn new processes and computer programs quickly
