Job Description
A forward thinking firm of accountants with offices in the UK looking to open an office in India. We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious individual initially to assist in the set up but eventually to manage up to 15 members of staff split over bookkeeping, accounts, payroll, personal and corporate tax.
Key responsibilities:
• Assist with setting up of India office – this will involve but not limited to recruitment of staff at different levels and setting up of premises
• Office manager with responsibility of ensuring work is delivered at agreed times to required standards
• Proactively interact with the UK team to ensure synergies and efficiencies are achieved, make recommendations for business and process improvement
• Dealing with premises related issues
• Ensuring timesheets are recorded by all members of the team in a timely manner
• Train and mentor junior members of staff
• Such other duties as may be reasonably expected of the post holder
• As this is a new role, it will evolve over time. The list is not exhaustive, and is only an indication of responsibilities.
Person specification
• Should have at least 5 years experience managing an accountancy BPO dealing with UK accounting and tax
• ACCA or ACA qualified
• Strong IT skills
• Some working knowledge in the UK would be beneficial, although not essential
• Knowledge of UK generally accepted accounting principles and UK accounting and tax rules
• Awareness of softwares – Xero, CCH Accounts Production and Alpha Tax
• Experience of managing team members and working effectively within a team
• Willing to be office based Monday to Friday, and Saturday if required
