About the role
This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week based at Nowra Administration Building, 36 Bridge Road Nowra. This role undertakes basic fire safety audits and provides support in facilitating efficient and effective safety management program in Council.
Duties
Reporting directly to the Lead - Certification, the focus of this position is to:
Provide administrative support and research to facilitate Council’s fire safety management program i.e. coordinating meetings, agendas, recording minutes and answering telephone enquiries
Co-ordinate, prepare and dispatch annual fire safety statement (AFSS) submission requests and associated invoices
Undertake routine quality assurance of the fire safety program to ensure the system is being maintained and recurring events are activated
Monitor the submission of annual fire safety statements
Process complaints/action requests by recording details into customer database
Review all incoming annual fire safety statements for compliance against the requirements of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2021 and the Environmental Planning & Assessment (Development Certification & Fire Safety) Regulation 2021 and liaise with customers to resolve non-compliances
Create outgoing correspondence requesting amendments and monitor resubmission of updated statements until satisfactorily completed
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:
Cert III in Business Administration (or equivalent) and/or relevant experience
Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2021 and the Environmental Planning & Assessment (Development Certification & Fire Safety) Regulation 2021 with respect to Fire Safety
Class C Driver’s Licence
Demonstrated ability to interpret legislation and policy in a work environment
Proof of Australian residency or citizenship
