Medical Department Secretary

Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital

You will be part of team that provides a high standard of secretarial and administrative support to the Head of Department within Medical Services while proactively providing a high level of personal assistance, secretarial and clerical support.

The Position

Maintaining confidentiality.
Answering and screening phone calls.
Managing the head of Department’s diary.
Prioritising and distributing incoming mail.
Preparing replies to both internal and external correspondence.
Undertaking word processing, spread sheeting, and PowerPoint functions as required.
Arranging meetings, ensuring catering, secretarial and other support services are provided.
Minute taking at meetings and follow-up as required.
Maintaining a flexible attitude to the daily schedule to address unexpected changing priorities.
Initiating and contributing to improvements to administrative systems.
Creating a welcoming and hospitable environment

You will ideally have experience in working in a busy hospital environment as a PA or Secretary. You will have accurate data processing/keyboard skills and advanced MS Office suite skills.

To succeed you will be customer focused with the ability to use your own initiative and be able to organise and prioritise clerical tasks with minimal supervision, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to be flexible and work as part of a team.

We can offer you

Salary: $7+,823.00.00 to $81,406.00 pro rata for part time, plus 11.5% superannuation
Fixed term part time position up to 60.8 hours per fortnight
