Your Opportunity
The

(ADC) in Alice Springs provides vital transitional accommodation and wraparound support services for Territorians who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Our service is designed to assist individuals and families who face significant challenges in securing and maintaining tenancies.
This is an on-site position based in Alice Springs where the Administration Officer is the welcoming and supportive first point of contact for clients and visitors both face to face and over the phone.

Working under general supervision, the role involves exercising initiative, sound judgment, and sensitivity while maintaining accurate records, facilitating front-of-house interactions, and ensuring smooth internal processes. Your contribution will enable frontline staff to focus on delivering housing and support programs, directly impacting client outcomes and wellbeing.
Your Key Responsibilities
Manage front office operations including reception duties, visitor management, staff movement records, and responding to inquiries.
Highly professional and courteous, verbal, and written communication that is aligned with the Mission Australia Code of Conduct.
Maintain accurate tenancy records, update spreadsheets, and process incoming referrals through shared mailboxes.
Handle financial transactions and processes including receipting, cash handling, banking, and issuing tokens, power cards, and rent receipts.
Support administrative processes such as recordkeeping, purchase orders, invoice processing, and document archiving.
Coordinate key and access management for residents, staff, and contractors; respond to duress alarms and follow safety protocols.
Provide secretarial support to management including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, booking travel, and assisting with events.
Maintain cleanliness and supply levels of the office and shared areas; manage vehicle logs, maintenance requests, and office inventory.
Requirements for Success
Certificate III in Business or similar discipline and minimum 12 months’ administration experience, ideally in housing or homelessness services.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to use internal systems for data entry and reporting.
Ability to work in high-pressure, busy environments while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders including vulnerable individuals.
Knowledge of Aboriginal cultural systems and protocols and understanding of the local community context.
Experience preparing meeting materials and correspondence with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload, work independently and as part of a team, and adapt to evolving service needs.
First Aid Certification is desired but not required.
Full driver licence with no restrictions.
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
