Role Description: Advocate – PMLA & Economic Offences Litigation (Minimum 5 Years’ Experience + Trial Court Experience Mandatory)
This is a full-time, on-site role in Delhi for an Advocate with minimum five years of focused experience in PMLA and economic-offence litigation, supported by substantial Trial Court experience.
The role is intensive and includes:
• Regular appearances before Special PMLA Courts, Sessions Courts, and Trial Courts in matters relating to bail, arrest, custody, remand, discharge, evidence, and trial proceedings.
• Drafting bail applications, anticipatory bail petitions, remand replies, objections to provisional attachment orders, quashing petitions, written submissions, and appellate filings.
• Preparing trial strategies, cross-examination briefs, evidence analysis, witness preparation notes, and compiling trial volumes.
• Scrutinising ED complaints, ECIRs, financial documents, bank trails, company records, and forensic material for defence preparation.Managing filings, listing, registry coordination, compliance of court orders, and maintaining case calendars.
• Providing regular updates to clients and senior partners while handling multiple connected proceedings.
Qualifications
• Minimum five years of active litigation experience, with strong exposure to Trial Courts and financial-crime matters.
• Solid understanding of the PMLA, CRPC, IPC, BNS, BNSS, IEA, BSA and other statutes.
• Demonstrated ability to argue bail, remand, and miscellaneous applications before Trial Courts, Special PMLA Courts, and Sessions Courts.
• Experience in drafting complex criminal pleadings and handling trial-stage evidence, including examination-in-chief and cross-examination preparation.
• Ability to examine financial transactions, cash trails, bank records, ledgers, and corporate documentation.
• Strong research abilities with familiarity in Supreme Court and High Court jurisprudence on PMLA and economic offences.
• Excellent communication, client-handling, and crisis-management skills.
• LLB or higher qualification. Additional training in forensic accounting, financial law, or economic offences will be an advantage.
