Duties
In collaboration with the Field Unit Superintendent and the Management Team, you will lead and manage, in accordance with the Rouge Field Unit priorities, a comprehensive and collaborative agriculture and realty program aimed at protecting and presenting Canada’s natural, cultural, and agricultural heritage within the first National Urban Park of Canada. In this role, your leadership competencies and management skills will shape the strategies, policies and plans pertaining to a diverse realty portfolio across multiple land uses, including agricultural, residential, and commercial leaseholds and/or concessions. You will manage a multidisciplinary team of agricultural and realty specialists, engage with all levels of government, work with multiple partners and stakeholders, connect with local communities, represent the Rouge Field Unit in various settings and contribute to the integrated delivery of meaningful services to Canadians.

A rich assembly of natural, cultural and agricultural landscapes, Rouge National Urban Park is home to amazing biodiversity, some of the last remaining working farms in the Greater Toronto Area, Carolinian ecosystems, amazing hiking opportunities, and human history dating back over 10,000 years, including some of Canada's oldest known Indigenous sites.

Rouge National Urban Park is one of the largest and best protected urban parks of its kind in the world, spanning 79.1 square kilometres in the heart of Canada's largest and most diverse metropolitan area, overlapping the cities of Toronto, Markham and Pickering and the townships of Uxbridge and Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Intent of the process
The results of this process will be used to fill one (1) full-time indeterminate year-round position.

This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic requirements in the same or other parts of the country.

Graduation with a university degree from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Business, Agriculture, Urban Planning, Public Administration, another specialisation relevant to the duties of the position; or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
Degree equivalency

EX1 Experience representing an organization within an intergovernmental relations context.

EX2 Experience establishing, collaborating and maintaining partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

EX3 Experience providing strategic advice, developing and implementing strategies and making recommendations to management.

EX4 Experience administering realty, development, business license or like processes.

EX5 Experience managing human and financial resources.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance.

Possess and maintain a valid Class G driver’s licence.
Willingness to travel, including overnight, off site and/or weekends.
Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment.
