The Infrastructure Delivery Engineering team at Oracle is revolutionizing end-to-end data center planning, design, construction and operations by developing innovative software solutions. We aim to create a seamless bridge between digital and physical infrastructure, ensuring efficient management and automation. By standardizing data center building and implementing advanced analytics, we streamline data center design and construction, enabling rapid scalability. With a focus on automation and AI integration, IDE is poised to lead the industry in cost-effective, efficient data center management, making it accessible and adaptable for future technological advancements.
The Data Center Software Architect will be responsible for designing and leading the software architecture that powers Oracle’s next-generation datacenter infrastructure. This role will focus on developing scalable and resilient software systems that enable Datacenter Management Infrastructure (DCMI), Building Management Systems (BMS), and automation software. The Architect will partner with ngineering, operations, and datacenter delivery teams to define standards, ensure interoperability, and accelerate automation for datacenter operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
• Define and drive the software architecture strategy for datacenter management and automation platforms.
• Lead the design and integration of DCMI, BMS, and related automation software into cohesive datacenter management solutions.
• Provide technical leadership across global datacenter projects, ensuring software systems are scalable, secure, and fault tolerant.
• Collaborate with hardware, networking, and operations teams to align software design with datacenter requirements.
• Develop reference architectures, design patterns, and technical roadmaps for datacenter software.
• Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and tools for datacenter automation and monitoring.
• Mentor and guide software development teams, setting best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
• Partner with vendors and external stakeholders to integrate third-party systems with Oracle’s datacenter platforms.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security policies, and regulatory requirements.
Basic Requirements
• 15+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong expertise in system design, distributed systems, and automation platforms.
• 10+ years of experience specifically building and delivering software solutions for datacenter environments, including DCMI, BMS, and datacenter automation.
• Proven track record of architecting large-scale, mission-critical systems with high availability and performance.
• Strong knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Go, Python) and cloud-native technologies (containers, Kubernetes, service mesh).
• Hands-on experience with APIs, integration frameworks, and microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of monitoring, telemetry, and control systems used in datacenters.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and present to executives.
• Experience working in global, cross-functional organizations with complex datacenter environments.
Preferred Requirements
• Experience with datacenter physical infrastructure systems (power, cooling, low-voltage, networking).
• Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, DevOps pipelines, and automated deployment strategies.
• Familiarity with large-scale cloud provider environments.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

Things You’ll Do
• Design and architect end-to-end security for the entire ML/AI pipeline, developing reference architectures for various deployment patterns, and ensuring compliance
• Perform threat modeling for AI/ML systems, identifying vulnerabilities in data poisoning, model evasion, extraction, and integrity; define and implement data privacy, DLP, and encryption standards for sensitive training and inference data; and collaborate with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate security-by-design principles from initial concept.
• Implement and monitor technical controls for model integrity, governance, and AI security, including access control and bias detection.
• Ensure AI systems comply with industry standards, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), and internal Responsible AI policies, working with Legal and Compliance to document and validate technical adherence to AI governance frameworks.
What We’re Looking For On Your Resume
• Minimum BA/BS degree. Advanced degree (Masters, PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security, or a related quantitative field is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years in Information Security, with at least 4 years focused on securing AI/ML systems.
• Deep understanding of the ML/AI lifecycle and its associated security risks.
• Expertise in cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and services related to AI/ML (e.g., SageMaker, Vertex AI).
• Strong knowledge of data security principles, including encryption, masking, and tokenization.
• Deep understanding of AI specific threats, including adversarial ML, data poisoning, prompt injection and model inversion and inference attacks and associated defensive measures
• Strong knowledge of application security architecture best practices and architecture patterns
• Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or specialized AI security certifications are preferred.
• Knowledge of AI related security related frameworks and standards globally
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex security concepts into clear requirements for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams (Data Science, Engineering, Product, Legal).
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to emerging AI security challenges.

For full-time positions, this pay range is for base per year; however, base pay offered within this range may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, education, skills, and experience.
