Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented App Legal Expert to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our mobile and web applications comply with all relevant legal regulations, standards, and industry practices. This role requires a deep understanding of digital law, data privacy, intellectual property, and compliance, along with the ability to provide strategic legal advice to support the development and deployment of our applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Compliance: Ensure that all mobile and web applications comply with applicable laws and regulations, including data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), intellectual property rights, and consumer protection standards.

Contract Review: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to app development, licensing, partnerships, and third-party services, ensuring they align with legal requirements and company policies.

Privacy and Data Protection: Advise on privacy and data protection issues, including the drafting and implementation of privacy policies, terms of service, and user agreements.

Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential legal risks associated with app development and deployment, providing strategic guidance to mitigate these risks.

Intellectual Property: Manage and protect the company’s intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents related to mobile and web applications.

Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact app development, deployment, and user interaction.

Dispute Resolution: Handle any legal disputes or litigation related to the app, working with external legal counsel when necessary.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to ensure that legal considerations are integrated into the app development lifecycle.

Training and Guidance: Provide legal training and guidance to internal teams on relevant legal issues, ensuring that they are aware of their responsibilities and obligations.

Documentation: Maintain detailed records of legal documents, contracts, compliance reports, and any other relevant legal materials.

Qualifications:

Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; membership in good standing with a state bar.
