The Role
technical configuration work as part of a systems engineering framework within an integrated workforce. The successful candidate will perform complex technical configuration activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcome. You will demonstrate and apply knowledge and experience to develop and review technical packages; use technical knowledge and experience to identify risks and uncertainties; build and sustain positive relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and assess technical packages including scoping, planning and reviewing of packages providing recommendations for consideration.
You will assess technical packages, reports, processes and product and equipment performance to meet specified requirements; provide recommendations for continuous improvement and implement corrective actions; ensure safety aspects of Defence capability are considered and incorporated into technical configuration activities and tasks; and Manage technical knowledge of relevant processes, packages, product and equipment. As a key member of the MCPSPO Configuration team, you will ensure conformance of practice with configuration management standards, policies, plans and procedures, and champion the standardization of practice for configuration management activities in the maritime domain.
About our Team
The Maritime Cross Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO) within Maritime Systems Division is the lead agency for the delivery of cross-Class sustainment services and advice across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, domestic and offshore. Our operating environment is complex and challenging, and requires exceptional contract and relationship management skills.
MCPSPO is comprised of three functions: Commercial, Sustainment and Engineering. These teams work in a complex, fast-paced environment as part of a diverse and inclusive Branch environment that encompasses a variety of knowledge, skills and experience within a supportive hierarchy. Our Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong knowledge of configuration management processes within a systems-engineering framework, EIA64+ and the five tenets of configuration management.
Ability to exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of applicable standards; regulation and policy; and in the application of practices and procedures.
Responsibility for managing work activities to achieve results with the ability to work independently and to identify and manage resources in support of accurate completion of work.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with influence in relation to complex issues across internal and external stakeholders.
