The Role
The Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS) Branch acquires, delivers, and sustains complex mission and support systems to provide capabilities to Defence. MIWS operates within a fast paced and dynamic working environment. We are developing a flexible and supportive environment that promotes achievement of the organisational mission and objectives, as well as individual project and product goals. Our organisation is busy; life is never dull, and no two days are the same. To support the complex capabilities MIWS delivers to Defence, we are seeking professional, APS 6 Integrated Logistics Officers to be part of our team. As a logistics officer in MIWS, you will:
Utilise outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills to work with integrated teams across Defence and Industry;
Utilise expertise in the broad ILS disciplines to provide reliable professional advice on a range of acquisition and sustainment challenges; and
Work closely with engineering teams to ensure mission and support system supportability outcomes are met.

MIWS Branch under Major Surface Combatants and Combat Systems Division is an exciting and complex environment to work in. We work across both Acquisition and Sustainment environments to develop and deliver products into new shipbuilding programs and to provide update/upgrade products to the existing RAN fleet. This allows us to offer roles that provide our staff exposure to a wide variety of high profile maritime projects, and a rewarding career in one of the most dynamic organisations within NSSG.

Experience in developing and/or delivering logistics capability in an acquisition or sustainment context to deliver projects and/or sustain products.
Experience in Defence, wider Government, or a related industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to build and sustain professional working relationships both internally and externally to Defence.
Strong people skills with ability to contribute to a positive team culture and working with experienced APS, ADF and contractors workforce.
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism and self-motivation, with a positive attitude towards challenges and perseverance in achieving outcomes.
