Overview:
The AR Caller plays a crucial role in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process by ensuring the timely collection of outstanding accounts receivable from insurance companies and patients. They are responsible for maintaining a positive rapport with payers to resolve billing issues and reduce delinquencies, ultimately contributing to the financial stability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Initiate calls to insurance companies and patients to follow up on outstanding claims and invoices
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for patient services
• Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and denials
• Document all interactions and follow-up activities in the billing system
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
• Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department for resolution
• Generate and analyze aged accounts receivable reports
• Collaborate with the billing and coding team to ensure accurate claim submission
• Provide exceptional customer service and address inquiries from payers and patients
• Stay updated on industry changes and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable management
• Proficiency in using billing software and MS Office applications
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance guidelines
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to analyze and interpret EOBs, remittances, and denials
• Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance processes
