A Robert Half client is seeking an AR Staff Accountant to join their team in the service industry, based in Gaithersburg, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing monthly contract invoices, processing journal entries, and maintaining collections. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage accounts receivable and engage with various financial tools such as QuickBooks.
Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly contract invoices with a particular focus on fixed price contracts and some complex contracts.
• Critically analyze and process journal entries associated with various accounts.
• Run job reports as part of the regular review and monitoring process.
• Handle invoicing tasks accurately and promptly to ensure proper records are maintained.
• Maintain collections by reviewing and comparing reports from one month to the next to identify trends and anomalies.
• Use QuickBooks for various accounting tasks and processes.
• Engage in billing and collecting payments in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate records of customer credit applications are maintained and processed efficiently.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding their accounts or billing.
• Monitor customer accounts and initiate appropriate action based on account activities.
Requirements
• Proficiency in handling billing processes and procedures
• Experience with collecting payments from customers or clients
• Knowledge and practical experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Proficiency in using QuickBooks software for accounting tasks
• Ability to maintain accurate records and provide timely financial information
• Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with internal departments and customers
• Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve payment and billing issues
• Understanding of financial regulations and standards.
