The Army Aviation Training Centre (AAvnTC) is located 30kms west of Toowoomba near the Darling Downs town of Oakey in central Queensland. The Centre is a registered training organisation with the primary role to train military members in the Army Aviation capability, including Ground aircrew, Aircraft & Avionic technicians and Pilots.
Students may experience one or a combination of the following areas: School of Army Aviation, Army Aviation Systems Program Office, Oakey Medical Centre, Air Traffic Control, Emergency Response, Weapons Training Simulation System, Rotary Wing Aircraft Maintenance School and Workshops.
An introduction to the Army fitness test conducted by a qualified physical training instructor forms part of the placement. Whenever possible students are also given the opportunity to experience the helicopter simulators (subject to availability). Information about the Defence recruiting process is included in the program. More details will be provided ahead of the program with your offer to attend.
