Job Description
The Statutory Planning Division is seeking an Assessment Officer with a combination of skills, knowledge and behaviours to fill a temporary position within the Impact Assessment Team. In this role, the Assessment Officer will be responsible for undertaking environmental impact assessment and development assessment, in accordance with the Planning Act 2026. The role will also require strong analytical skills with attention to details and extensive liaison and communication with a range of stakeholders and adaptability to respond to a range of requests.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: Experience or qualifications in natural resource management, environmental sciences, local and regional planning, environmental law or government administration would be an advantage.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with possibility of extension up to 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position is based in a workplace designed for activity-based working and will involve a mix of working from the office and home.
