ABOUT THE ROLE...
We seek an experienced, enthusiastic, and detail-focused Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team in a full-time capacity based at Adelaide Zoo for a 12-month contract (ending 30th June 2026).
You will report directly to the Manager of Finance and Administration and assist and support the accounting services for ZOOSSA. You will work in a busy team, focusing on (however not limited to) -
Assisting the Senior Accountant with processing journals and other accounting support,
Complete daily processes, other income recognition and reconciliations,
Assist with completing balance sheet reconciliations regularly,
Assist Account Receivable processes (carried out by the Finance Officer)
Provide administration and project support as required
ABOUT YOU...
Our successful candidate will have a can-do, proactive attitude with a positive approach to challenges. You will also be able to solve problems and work well under pressure. The successful candidate will have/be –
Previous experience in a similar role;
Qualifications in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration;
Excellent communication and customer service skills;
The ability to organise time effectively and prioritise workload;
Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word;
Be accountable for your work and demonstrate high levels of attention to detail;
Ability to work efficiently and effectively both autonomously and in a team environment;
Strong analytical skills.
