Assistant Accountant

Job Description:We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to support our finance and accounting operations. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, processing transactions, and supporting the senior accounting team in day-to-day tasks. This position offers a great opportunity to gain experience and grow within the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:Data Entry & Record Maintenance:

Enter daily financial transactions in accounting software.
Maintain and update general ledger accounts.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

Prepare and process vendor invoices and payments.
Follow up on outstanding customer payments.
Reconcile vendor and customer statements.

Bank Reconciliation:

Perform monthly bank and cash reconciliation.
Assist in managing petty cash transactions.

Assisting with Financial Reports:

Help in preparing basic financial reports like trial balance, profit & loss, and balance sheet.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.

GST/TDS Compliance (if applicable):

Support preparation and filing of GST returns.
Assist in TDS calculations and returns.

Support to Senior Accountants:

Provide support in audits, budgeting, and other financial tasks.
Assist in internal documentation and compliance checks.

Other Administrative Duties:

Maintain digital and physical financial records.
Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the finance team.
Qualifications & Skills:Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
Basic knowledge of accounting principles and tax regulations.
Familiarity with accounting software like Tally
Good MS Excel skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
