We’re supporting a well-established business with the appointment of an Assistant Accountant on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract. This is a key role within the finance function, with your own specific focus as well as supporting wider reporting and planning activity.

Role Overview:
Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee the SAP Fixed Assets module
Monitor and support Capital Expenditure processes, partnering with stakeholders across the business
Review actuals vs budget/forecast; support accurate reforecasting and budget planning
Contribute to period-end close processes and deliver timely, accurate balance sheet reconciliations
Produce divisional P&L and support team at period end
Support wider ad hoc requests and finance projects
Key Responsibilities:
Capital & Fleet Budgeting: Indirect responsibility for capital spend, depreciation, and fleet reporting – including annual budgets and reforecasts
Financial Reporting: Contribute to period, quarterly, and year-end close with reconciled reports from core finance systems
Business Partnering: Collaborate with Central Services and Fleet departments to meet reporting deadlines
Systems Change: Provide input and training support during the transition to D365
About You:
Proven experience in as a Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant or Assistant Management Accountant
Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (preferably SAP)
High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
Commercially aware and able to challenge constructively
Confident communicator, comfortable liaising across departments
Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: £26,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
