The role:
Based in North Sydney, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant on a Maternity Leave contract to assist in providing high quality, accurate and timely financial accounting support to ensure compliance, enhance operational decision making and achieve business goals. This role will report to the Financial Controller.
You will be responsible for:
Daily import of the bank statement to Dynamics365
Reconciliation of the bank accounts
Month end journals – prepayments, accruals, expense allocations
P&L review for assigned GL accounts
Balance sheet reconciliations
Maintain corporate card limit listing and complete corporate card applications
Maintain incentive/gift/entertainment listing with for FBT support
Supporting senior accountants as required on various tasks
Partner with Support and Operational Funsquad as required
Assist with half year and year end audits
Skills and Experience
This role is integral to our accounting team. The most suited candidate for this role will be a self-starter, driven to succeed and enjoy working within a team environment.
The ideal candidate will possess:
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a similar field
Previous 2+ years of experience in a similar role or accounts payable role
Strong proficiency in all MS Suite
Proven ability analysing and articulating operational performance
Confidence managing multiple different priorities and the ability to prioritise accordingly
Able to take initiative, solve complex reconciliations and offer process improvements
Flexibility to take on ad hoc and changing responsibilities
A high level of attention to detail and an analytical mindset
