About the Branch
The Human Resources Branch delivers high quality operational and strategic HR services that support the Royal Australian Mint to achieve its strategic objectives, through its most valuable asset, its People. We ensure that the Mint attracts, develops, and retains a skilled, diverse and engaged workforce. Our services include payroll, recruitment, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, complaints and resolution and HR policy development and implementation.

Our team is actively involved in the full employee lifecycle—from attraction and recruitment through to development, engagement, and separation. About the Role
The role reports to the Director, Human Resources and is part of a small dynamic HR team within the Mint, who provide specialist HR advice, services and support to the Mint while working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
This role will support the Mint’s upcoming enterprise agreement bargaining process; working closely with the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC), Fair Work, Unions and the Mint Consultative Committee to progress APS wide bargaining, ensuring alignment with the Government’s workplace relations policy and the Mint’s operational and workforce priorities.

In this role, you will also be involved in coordinating, updating and providing advice about Mint employment terms and conditions, management of staff consultative committees, HR delegations, secondments, workplace grievances and conduct matters as well as pay related matters. Workplace relations experience is highly desirable.


The Duties
The duties of this position include:
1. Managing enterprise bargaining processes, including the review of employee representative proposals and participation in high-level negotiations consistent with the Public Sector Workplace Relations Policy and the Fair Work Act.
2. Developing and providing expert advice to employees and stakeholders on enterprise bargaining matters, while managing and coordinating communications and engagement with senior managers, employees, workplace delegates, relevant unions and other stakeholders.
3. Preparing relevant correspondence, documentation and communications including applications for approval of the Enterprise Agreement in accordance with the Fair Work Act.
4. Creating and maintaining close relationships with the Australian Public Service Commission, Fair Work Commission, unions and professional legal counsels. This includes consulting with legal counsel on selected/relevant industrial matters.
5. Liaising with the Mint’s consultative forums and unions on matters relating to the development and implementation of new and amended policies, strategies or programs, ensuring the organisation responds to current and emerging industrial relations issues.
In addition to managing the enterprise bargaining process, the role will also be responsible for:
6. Leading end-to-end Code of Conduct processes, including investigations, preparation of breach decision documentation, and provision of advice and briefings to sanction decision-makers.
7. Providing accurate, practical and timely HR advice in accordance with legislation, APS frameworks and agency policies.
8. Managing evidence, record keeping, HR risk and case governance in a sensitive and complex environment.
9. Provide support to the Assistant Director, Performance and Wellbeing and the Assistant Director, Payroll and Recruitment on a range of HR matters.

Qualification
A tertiary qualification in Employee or Industrial Relations, Human Resource Management, Business Management, Law or a related field would be desirable.

Security
This position requires a Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtainand maintain a clearance at this level..
