Job Description

The HR Assistant at Burmese Care provides hands-on support across human resources, workforce administration, compliance, and staff training for NDIS and Aged Care services, with a strong focus on supporting a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) workforce.

This role supports staff intake, onboarding, compliance monitoring, record-keeping, payroll checks, and the coordination and delivery of the annual training plan. The position works closely with management, case managers, and external providers to ensure workforce operations are culturally responsive, inclusive, and compliant with regulatory requirements.

This role focuses on coordination, administration, compliance support, and training delivery under management direction rather than senior HR decision-making.

HR Policies & Workforce Compliance

Assist in maintaining current position descriptions, employment contracts, and HR documentation.
Conduct staff intake, onboarding, and compliance checks in line with NDIS and Aged Care requirements.
Monitor staff qualifications, screening checks, training records, and expiry dates using TurnPoint.
Support compliance with: NDIS Practice Standards, Aged Care Quality Standards, Fair Work Act and Workplace Awards and Agreements
Recruitment & Staffing Support

Assist with recruitment activities including advertising, shortlisting, interview coordination, and reference checks.
Support inclusive recruitment practices that encourage participation from CALD communities.
Conduct staff intake interviews and onboarding administration.
Liaise with Case Managers and Service Managers regarding staffing needs and availability.
Performance & Staff Administration

Support probation reviews, performance appraisal documentation, and staff record updates.
Assist in managing staff concerns, complaints, and follow-ups in consultation with management.
Track attendance, punctuality, and leave balances.
Monitor staff workload indicators and escalate potential burnout or HR risks to management.
Support staff engagement activities, internal communications, and retention initiatives.
HR Communication & Documentation

Communicate with staff regarding availability, compliance requirements, training, and HR updates.
Manage HR-related emails and follow up outstanding documentation.
Maintain accurate digital and physical employee records.
Scan, file, and organise HR, participant, and business documentation as required.
Ensure records are audit-ready and stored in accordance with privacy requirements.
Payroll & Timesheet Support

Assist in checking staff timesheets for accuracy prior to payroll processing.
Liaise with payroll or finance staff using Xero to resolve discrepancies.
Ensure staff payments align with employment contracts and applicable awards.
Auditing & Compliance Support

Assist with internal audits and external compliance reviews.
Support workforce compliance audits to ensure all staff meet mandatory requirements.
Monitor completion of required checks and training, including: National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening, Working With Children Check (WWCC), First Aid & CPR
Maintain compliance registers and supporting documentation.
Training & Development (Annual Training Plan)

Support the development, coordination, and implementation of the annual staff training plan in line with NDIS and Aged Care requirements.
Coordinate and support the delivery of scheduled training sessions, including internal and external training.
Deliver approved internal training sessions as directed (e.g. inductions, policy refreshers, mandatory updates).
Maintain accurate training records, attendance logs, and certificates within TurnPoint.
Monitor training completion rates and follow up outstanding requirements with staff.
Assist in reviewing training outcomes and identifying gaps for continuous improvement.

Pay: $33.00 – $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 28 per week
