Job Summary:

We are a family-owned business with a long history of success, and we’re looking for an experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. With at least 5 years of experience in a finance role, you'll have the opportunity to expand your expertise in financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analysis. In this role, you’ll be supporting the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting, and improving the accuracy of financial data within our ERP system to drive decision-making across the business.

Working closely with senior finance professionals, you'll play an important part in shaping the financial operations of our business, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency while contributing to a supportive and collaborative environment. As a family-owned company, we take pride in our close-knit, values-driven culture, where every team member is valued and has an opportunity to make an impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis, for review by key stakeholders.
Support the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial performance.
Use our ERP system (Business Central) to process and track financial transactions, ensuring data accuracy.
Contribute to month-end and year-end closing processes, including inventory valuation and cost of sales.
Analyse manufacturing costs, including cost of goods sold, labour, and overheads, to identify variances and recommend improvements.
Generate and analyse reports using Power BI or Excel, providing valuable insights for business strategy.
Support ongoing improvement initiatives in our financial systems, ensuring better integration, data consistency, and reporting capabilities.
Collaborate across departments to ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and accessible to all relevant stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:

5 years of experience in a finance role, with a solid understanding of financial accounting and management accounting processes.
AAT qualification or equivalent, with a strong foundation in accounting principles.
Familiarity or exposure to ERP systems (such as Business Central, SAP, or Oracle) with a strong desire to deepen your systems expertise.
An interest in data analysis and financial reporting tools, with experience in Excel or Power BI.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with large datasets.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across teams.
Proactive and results-oriented, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
A desire to continuously improve processes and contribute to team success.
What We Offer:

Competitive salary (£33,000 - £38,000) based on experience.
Health cashback scheme, including employee assistance scheme.
Death in service cover.
Eye care vouchers.
Cycle to work Scheme.
Company branded clothing.
Free parking.
Annual social staff events.
Professional development and training opportunities to expand your technical and system skills.
A dynamic, supportive work environment with exposure to advanced financial systems and ERP platforms.
Opportunities for career progression within a growing, family-owned business.
