I. Basic Information of the Position

Position Name: Assistant Manager - Legal

II. Key Responsibilities and accountabilities of the Role

1. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts across all CDGL businesses, ensuring legal compliance and protection of company interests.

2. Handle issuance and responses to legal notices, collaborating with stakeholders to address legal matters effectively.

3. Identify and document critical processes with defined turnaround times to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

4. Implement process enhancements to optimize operations and ensure timely service delivery.

5. Monitor contract closures to support cafe openings as scheduled and report on contract activity monthly.

6. Provide guidance on statutory compliance, focusing on mitigating legal risks and reducing litigation costs.

7. Review and update contracts to minimize financial liabilities and achieve cost savings for the company.

8. Manage nationwide litigation cases, coordinating with external legal counsel to safeguard company interests.

+. Establish and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for critical processes, ensuring adherence and taking corrective actions as needed.

10. Stay informed about FSSAI and Legal Metrology regulations, communicating updates to relevant departments.

11. Offer training and guidance to various departments on legal implications and compliance requirements.

12. Conduct training sessions for subordinate managers to improve their understanding of legal processes and compliance standards.

IV. Knowledge and Skills

Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

A Master's degree in Law (LLM) or relevant certifications (e.g., Company Secretary (CS), Post Graduate Diploma in Business and Corporate Laws) is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience: 5-7 years of experience in corporate law, commercial law, or a related legal field.

Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts.

Experience in managing litigation cases and working with external legal counsel.

Experience in providing legal guidance on statutory compliance and regulatory matters

Functional Skills Required to execute the role:
Contract Management: Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts to ensure legal compliance and protect company interests. Ability to monitor contract closures and manage the lifecycle of contracts effectively.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for creating legal documents, reports, and presentations. Familiarity with contract management software for efficient contract lifecycle management. Knowledge of data analysis tools for monitoring and reporting on contract activity and legal compliance.
