Assistant Manager of Events (Part-Time)
Job details
Job description, work day and responsibilities
Creative Nomad Studios is where creativity, community, and really well-organized chaos come together. We’re a downtown Orillia coworking space, gallery, and event venue—and we’re currently on the lookout for a Part-Time Assistant Manager of Events to join our small-but-mighty team. If you’re a people-loving, detail-wrangling, inbox-taming kind of person with a knack for event logistics and the flexibility to roll up your sleeves on event day, read on.
This is a 20-hour/week in-office role, with the possibility of moving to a hybrid model (because we get it—sometimes the best ideas happen in sweatpants). Occasional event support is required, extended casual event work will be added, meaning you may find yourself adjusting a centrepiece one day and sending a perfectly worded client email the next.
Bonus? There's an opportunity to pick up extra hours depending on event needs.
Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
Supporting the Event Manager with lead management, client communication, and booking coordination
Drafting and updating function sheets like your life depends on it (because sometimes… it does)
Handling venue administration and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly
Sending clear, kind, typo-free emails that keep clients informed and confident
Helping with venue setup, client support, and lock-up during events
Creating social media posts, organizing content, and helping with event promotion
Working directly with guests and vendors on event days to provide a seamless, professional experience
Pouring water, wine, and calm energy when things go off-script (Smart Serve required, and grace under pressure is a plus)
This Role Is For You If You’re:
Super organized and a natural problem-solver (you don’t panic—you pivot)
Tech-savvy and confident using Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets, Canva and Drive
A clear communicator with strong writing chops and a friendly, polished tone
Personable, professional, and comfortable speaking with clients, vendors, and guests
Equally happy behind a laptop or helping set up tables
Able to work independently, manage your own time, and take initiative
Smart Serve certified (required)
Available for occasional evening or weekend shifts to support events as needed
