Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
• Post payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts/encounters
• Confirm accurate transfer of outstanding balances to next level insurance carriers or patient responsibilities
• Research unidentified payments and/or recoupments for posting
• Post “zero-payment” explanation of benefits and transfer balance to appropriate payor
• Process daily correspondence files received through Lockbox
• Update & reconcile all posted batches into the online reconciliation tool
• Ensure the daily & monthly process level SLA's are met. This may include but may not limited to quality & productivity
• Uses, protects, and discloses patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
• Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the staff, clinics, ancillary departments, and management
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
Required Qualifications:
• Graduate
• 18 months and above experience in healthcare payment posting
• Strong knowledge of medical insurance (HMO, PPO, Medicare, Medicaid, Private Payers)
