Our absolutely fantastic Associate is off on her Overseas Adventure, so now GRC Partners + Porter Novelli is looking for an up-and-coming Public Relations Associate to join our Auckland team and fill her amazing shoes!

Our Auckland office, where this job is focuses on public and stakeholder relations, marketing and strategic communications. However, there may be times you'll need to help support our Wellington office, which leads government relations.

About you:

We're looking for someone who's just leaving University with a relevant public relations, marketing, communications degree or someone with one to two years of work experience under your belt. You might be an in-house communications advisor looking for more variety or a new challenge, a former journalist looking to tell stories in a different way, or an agency account executive who wants to keep learning.

As a member of the client service team, you will play a supporting role in the day-to-day management of multiple client accounts and projects.

You'll be responsible for:

Managing the administration of your client accounts, including regular meetings, action-lists and client correspondence.
Desk research and insight gathering to support the development of communications strategies for our clients.
Writing something every day - from newsletters, press releases and pitches to journalists, social media posts.
Building relationships with journalists and pitching stories to them in support of our media relations strategies (some of which you'll also be helping to develop).
Supporting our agency's response to new business initiatives, which might include research, writing, creative ideas development and creating presentations and pitches.
Attendance at networking and/or professional development events that supports your development goals.
Helping to develop our digital marketing capabilities and managing our own digital platforms and social media.

You will be comfortable working to tight deadlines, on multiple projects, in a team environment.
Hours and location

This position is based in our Auckland office at 100 College Hill, Ponsonby. Occasional travel to Wellington and throughout New Zealand may be required to support colleagues and clients. There may even be the odd trip to Australia.
