Join the Audit Office of South Australia as an Associate Data Engineer and build a long-term career in ICT.

Your new organisation

The Audit Office of South Australia (SA) strives to assist the SA public sector in operating at the highest levels of accountability and integrity. We provide timely, relevant information to Parliament on the performance and accountability of SA government agencies and local government through our audits, reviews, and examinations.

The Data Analytics team is a small unit within the Data and Technology Directorate (Business Support Branch). The team works on various projects, including establishing and managing automated data collections, conducting audit and corporate analytics, building and maintaining data analytics apps, and supporting analytics learning and development initiatives.

Your new role

This is an excellent opportunity to build on your foundational IT background in a small team that will give you exposure to a variety of IT systems and SA government agencies.

Reporting to the Manager of Data Analytics, you will be responsible for the development, management, optimisation, and monitoring of Audit SA's automated data pipelines. You will use technologies such as SQL, Python, SSIS, and Microsoft Azure services to acquire, store, integrate, and distribute data for analysis. As your role progresses, you will play an important part in helping the organisation transition its data analytics capabilities to the cloud.

You will be encouraged to use your natural problem-solving ability, questioning skills, strong time management, and attention to detail to identify opportunities for improvements in organisational data operations. You will also engage with a variety of people to work through issues and find solutions.

This is an opportunity to build a long-term career in data management and ICT within an organisation that supports progression and offers wide exposure across the SA government.

What You'll Need To Succeed

Experience working with data engineering tools such as SQL, SSIS, and Python.
Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI and/or Tableau.
Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to deliver clear and effective communication of technical concepts to a range of audiences.
The ability to establish cooperative working relationships with clients and team members.
A passion for data and advanced analytics with a willingness to learn new technology developments.
The ability to apply for and maintain an Australian government baseline level security clearance - Australian citizenship is essential.

Salary

$67,58+ to $72,033 (ASO3 classification level) per annum plus super.
