Job Description
• Candidate will be responsible for providing support in Consumer cases, Dispute Resolution, Litigation, Arbitration, Regulatory disputes/Cases, Labour Laws, Industrial Disputes, Copyright, Corporate laws, etc.
• Responsible for handling legal operations and legal affairs of the company and provide strong legal and regulatory support to the operational teams.
• Well updated with the policies of Air India such as Conditions of Carriage Compensation policy and other policies related to the aviation sector and advice the internal stakeholders as and when required.
• To handle on an end-to-end basis, various types of contracts such as ground handling agreements (GHA’s), services agreements, software development agreements, software licensing agreements, sales and marketing agreements, lease agreements, purchase agreements, aircraft and parts maintenance agreements, including discussions with internal stakeholders, drafting, creating consensus and incorporating comments of different internal stakeholders (departments), negotiations with counterparty, execution, closing and then helping in implementing/performance of agreements.
• To advise internal stakeholders in different non-Tax laws including contract law, aviation law, companies' law, FEMA and to ensure that contracts and other arrangements proposed to be entered into by Air India are compliant with the applicable laws.
• Occasionally work with external lawyers for procuring opinions and/or for obtaining advice on transactions and support creation/improvisation and implementation of internal processes for ensuring smooth operations and closing of assignments in a timely and efficient manner while mitigating legal risks for Air India.
• Have an attitude for constant improvement. It is also very important for the resource to take the initiative and work proactively and closely with various departments and strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced business environment.
• Demonstrate the ability to think and decide quickly, and to communicate legal issues and solutions clearly and concisely and excellent written and oral communication skills, including a clear and concise drafting style.
