Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in a broad spectrum of general liability defense matters, including premises liability, construction accidents and other types of claims.
Manage cases from inception through resolution—handling pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
Draft legal documents, including motions, briefs, discovery responses, and settlement agreements.
Collaborate closely with firm partners, clients, claims professionals, and experts to develop and implement effective defense strategies.
Conduct legal research and provide analysis and recommendations to clients and insurers.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of case activity, ensuring adherence to court deadlines and internal requirements.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in New York is required; New Jersey admission is a plus.
3+ years of experience in insurance defense litigation, with a focus on general liability.
Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage a full caseload independently and effectively while meeting deadlines.
Professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a client-focused approach.
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
